In short, the immigration bill is not just about immigration. It is about politics -- and the stakes are high. Under such conditions, it is not unusual for a politician to rise above principles.

Not unusual for Reid et al at all!

When we hear that these immigrants need to be treated like the immigrants that founded this country, we need to point out that more than 1/2 of the original immigrants returned to their home countries because they could not "make it" here.

See,there was No welfare, no medicaid, no heap, no housing allowances etc.

Today there is no reason to return home, they live better here on the dole than they did in their home countries.

If they want the same treatment that my Irish/german ancestors had lets pass a law making them ineligible for any state or federal benefits PERIOD

Bush should be impeached, for refusing to secure the border.

If he has the power to listen on certain American international calls in time of war, then he certainly has the power to use the military to guard the border better.

I know, I'm a nut that refuses to vote Republican every vote, no matter what.
