I do believe that Shep's shows are supposed to be more NEWS shows than anything....and his opinions are just irritating, but, when he spouts WRONG facts, then he should be called out.
I think the the closest Bush or Cheney have ever come to "linking" Saddam and 9/11...was when Cheney was saying that that sort of terrorism is in play in Saddam's Iraq as well as with Bin Ladin..
I may be wrong, but I don't think either have directly linked them...just like they have NEVER said that Iraq was an "IMMINENT THREAT"...which is another false statement the left keeps perpetuating.
I am so tired of people saying "Shep ,and others (Whorealdo, now Gavin newsome's Ex Kimberly Guilfoyle etc.)provide insulation from cries of Right Wing bias at FOX. FOX seems "Right Wing" to the critics because they provide both sides. We appreciate FOX because they don't play the game in the same manner as the others.
What bothers me here is that our people in Iraq watch FOX News. My best friend (Army Colonel) and Brother In Law (Marine-Camp Fallujah) are just back. Told me they depend on FOX News for their broadcast news. They didn't need Shep taking up for the naysayers.
I feel better now. Neil Cavuto is cleaning up Shep's mess. Fair And Balanced.
There was a link between al-Qaida and Iraq. The current leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, Zarqawi, was living in Iraq before the coalition invasion.
Furthermore, many al-Qaida operatives were using Iraqi passports before 2002. Even one of the World Trade Center bombers in 1993 fled to Iraq.
Since Iraq was a totalitarian state under Saddam Hussein, it's obvious that the Iraqi dictator was looking the other way or cooperating with al-Qaida operatives.
So, yes, there was a link between Saddam Hussein Iraq and al-Qaida.
Nevertheless, it has not been proven that Saddam Hussein was directly involved in 9/11.
