After a controversial reaction to the Penn State College Republicans' plans to hold an Illegal Immigration Awareness Day, Penn State issued a statement last night urging event planners to rethink their approach.
According to the statement, Penn State President Graham Spanier said, "The nation's immigration policy is a legitimate topic for discussion and debate. ... However, the approach initially proposed by the College Republicans, while protected by the First Amendment, was unproductive and offensive to many."
Illegal Immigration Awareness Day is scheduled for Wednesday. According to a College Republicans press release, the event aims to raise "awareness to the topic of illegal immigration, as well as to highlight the positive aspects of legal immigration."
The College Republicans could not be reached by press time yesterday.
Latino Caucus and Black Caucus members responded angrily when the College Republicans first announced the day, along with its plan for a "Catch an Illegal Immigrant Game." After discussions between the two groups, however, the game was eliminated and the group placed more of an emphasis on education.

So, the first right we lose in the illegal aliean takeover of America is free speech.
The Penn State administration looks to be on the cutting edge of this thing.

Editor: Can we get a response from the College Republicans?
Journalist: We lost the number.
Editor: Oh, darn. Too bad.

So, let's see, immigration is a legitimate subject for discussion as long as you are in favor of letting ILLEGALS break the law and thumb their noses at our laws! If you are for enforcing the existing laws then, of course, you mst keep silent!

So, the first right we lose in the illegal aliean takeover of America is free speech. It sure appears that way! Look how many schools banned the American flag and patriotic clothing. Our schools have been hijacked by Socialists, and they are dumbing down America!

"the first right we lose in the illegal aliean takeover of America is free speech."Of course.
Most illegals are coming from places that have no tradition of free speech, nor of most of the other aspects of the Bill of Rights.
Why should they be expected to respect ANY of our laws, if they don't respect our borders?

I actually thought this was going to be in response to a Latino walkout, a parade of illegals, or something of that nature and was all prepared to be pleasently surprised.
What was I smoking?

Still, these particular speech suppressors are jackbooted thugs employed by the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
They didn't just walk in from Mexico.
Sounds like we grow our own fascists.

I'm trying to figure out why the Black Caucus is even considered part of the story...just another thing to make you go, "Hmmmm".
Anyone have a pic of Graham playing the washboard?? A picture says a thousand words about his credibility when you see that ridiculous little piece of sideshow freakiness!

Right. And the Leftists who were born in the country have had it too easy. They're rebelling for the sake of rebelling, and they don't appreciate what they were born with. Add to that the Leftists at the top who are running the show(ie, Soros, et. al.). They want to destroy the US, because they believe they will be in charge when rubble settles.

Here's the e-mail I have drafted--do you think the sarcasm is too heavy-handed?
Dear President Spanier:
As an alumna of PSU (BA - Class of '83; MA - '86), I am appalled that you would permit such a flagrant display of intolerance and political un-correctness as is planned by those EVIL College Republicans next Wednesday. After all, as we all know, there is only ONE correct point of view that rational, educated, citizens of the world as ourselves should espouse--the one that aligns with that of the Marxist establishment that has rightfully taken its place as the arbiter of all truth in the academic world. Any expression of so called "free-speech" (what reactionary Neanderthal came up with that stupid idea, anyway?) that conflicts with this world view should of course be suppressed--particularly when it clashes with the goals of our beloved aggrieved minority groups.
I certainly hope you plan to severely discipline the followers of this patently racist, sexist, homophobic, intolerant and most likely ruthlessly capitalist organization. Perhaps you can take a leaf out of the book of Fidel Castro, no doubt greatly admired by all your correct-thinking professors, and simply have them thrown into prison? Just a suggestion.
Sincerely,
To: rightwingintelligentsia
