Punish those who employ illegals with large fines....

........the SEC wants to know if publicly-held companies, their execs and Board of Directors put investments at risk - either by utilizing risky short-term wage gains by hiting illegals, or violating accounting laws with regard to Sarbanes-Oxley.......

Fraudulent filings or not filing with the IRS could also play a huge part in this.

The arrogance of these illegals and their sense of entitlement are big turn-offs turning the tide against them.

Americans are asking, "Why should we have to subsidize these foreigners?"

John McCain is an enemy of the state. No,John McCain loves the state. John McCain cherishes arbitrary power over the individual. Johh McCain has utter contempt for the Constitution (McCain/Feingold). John McCain is a vile and sick man who's lust for pure power is only exceeded by his innate evilness.

No, but with public opinion so heavily weighted against any sort of amnesty, "guest worker" or similar program, only the most dim-witted politician who is disinterested in remaining in public office will ignore the groundswell of opposition. sorry, but the final bill will have amnesty, you can take that to the bank. Our elected Pols have no concern for what is "right." They know the American people will forget this in six months -- (with willing lies from the MSM to downplay things) We who love this Republic will be very disappointed in the final bill. We will be let down. At this point I fear a large part of our base will stay home in November and give Congress back to the evil left.

The House members may take note and back off any amnesty, but most of the Senate and GW will continue to push for amnesty.

If the amnesty doesn't get through by the 06 election, look for GW to spend his last two years in office trying to push it through.

GW can do nothing and accomplish his seeming goal -- to allow illegals to stay. Unless the backlash forces Congress to insist on action to secure the border and discourage illegals from staying here, look for status quo if no amnesty gets passed. And GW will go down in history as the President who allowed to most massive invasion of illegals on his watch.

Those amendments to the kennedy/mclame bill were amendments that would have strengthened the bill against kennedy style amnesty. reid wanted to block these amendments, hoping that Republicans would vote against the horrid bill that the dims support. In this way, they can blame Republicans openly for being anti-immigrant due to the fact that the majority of Republicans in the Senate would vote against the amnesty bill (and the bill would NOT pass).

You trust that POS reid over our President?

....voters are starting to tilt toward get-tough Republicans on immigration....The key here for Republicans is the adjective, "get-tough." That doesn't include President Bush or the Senate Republicans, I would think.

I have neighbors who rarely if ever speak politics.

They are very upset, (stress very upset) with these orgasnized 'riots' on television.

Most are offspring 1st, 2nd , 3rd and even 4th generation decendants of "legal" immigrants, all nationalities.

There is going to be a backlask so big, RINO's and Democrats are going to have 'whiplash' from being left so far behind , so quickly.

The arrogance of these illegals and their sense of entitlement are big turn-offs turning the tide against them.

Americans are asking, "Why should we have to subsidize these foreigners?"
Americans for years have been voting for confiscation of wealth and redistribution to the "entitled". Having lived off of "theft by ballot box" for a very long time, Americans are suprised that a lot of fellow-thieves have showed up to share the loot. It will be interesting to see how this "battle of the thieves (and murderers)" develops.
I say "murderers", because Americans have, by and large, sat by while several tens of millions of fellow un-born citizens were murdered for the convenience of the parents, and now have a government which faces a roughly $40 trillion unfunded future "obligation" to Social Security pensioners and Medicare beneficiaries which is supposed to be covered on a "pay as you go" basis by payroll taxes of future workers. Since tens of millions of these future workers have been slaughtered in the womb, the beneficiaries better hope that workers materialize from SOMEWHERE to fill the ranks. So, if you hate the idea of a flood of immigrants, consider where your SS and Medicare benefits are going to come from in the future (or if not yours, because you have personal resources to cover your own needs, your numerous unprepared neighbors who are already well conditioned to pick your pocket via "theft by ballot box", i.e., confiscatory taxes to assure that you pay your---'fair share').
Welcome to the 21st century, where the chickens of 20th century follies are rapidly coming home to roost, laying many rotten eggs as they come.

It's never been a dearth of effective policies; it's always been a lack of will to implement them, and remains so.

Only reason for that speech -----in Miami, no less---making the political waters safe for Jeb.I disagree. I believe that Bush actually believes that these people are the future of America - one that is a Christian based society. He believes that since they are mostly Catholic that they will revive Christianity in the U.S. IMO.
There is also a cultural reverence of them by Bush. I don't get it. I don't see that they have anything to offer other than a permanent lower class. That may also be part Bush's equation having come from an elite family and never truly having to work. Perhaps that is why he clears brush on his ranch by himself so he can 'relate' to the way they work.

<< The sooner we get these people out of our country the better. >>

Amen.

"Guest workers," indeed.

Breakers, enterers, rapists, looters and pillagers, more like it.

Given the polling industry/mass-media animus, that turns pretty much every "poll" into effectively an un-and-anti-American push poll, it is amazing that the published anti criminal alien poll numbers are as high as they are.

Although in every exercise I've been either close to or involved in, the 'seal the borders/anti-amnesty/deport' etceteras numbers have all been higher than 90%.

The Sleeping Giant has been wakened and is in no mood to take much more in the way of the feral gummint's lies, corruption and obfuscation -- or of the illegal aliens' assinine arrogance.

"Bush is either lying or doesn't know the will of the American people."Bush is the 1d10t that got this whole thing started by offering these people a small ray of hope when he was talking about a "Guest Worker Program" a couple of years ago. Then, the true conservatives in the House of Representatives burst these people's bubbles and this was the backlash. All I can say for Bush and the spineless Republicans in the Senate is that thank God their tenures in Washington are almost over, hopefully.
