I don't think unity for unity's sake is necessarily a good thing, but I am astonished that the free-floating Michael Weiner-like "The Republicans are just as bad!" vitriol that spewed out during the Dubai thing has resurfaced. I think there are a lot of people who are forgetting just how many good things Bush has done for the country; we shouldn't excuse the bad things, but the idea that nullifying his final two years in office by giving him a Democrat Congress is going to do ANY of us any good is simply mind-boggling to me.

I hope some of these FReepers hang onto these posts of theirs, and come November have their heads clear enough to re-read them and say "What was I thinking?!"

I think that for the most part, most of the most vocal FReepers and posters are just obstinate in their beliefs, all love their country and basically disagree about how to save it. Sadly, many of those now in leadership positions who have been supported for a long time by most if not all of us here are now on the verge of turning this country upside down..

Now, I will not now and never have voted for a dem, but if the option is to jump into a pond of alligators or crocs as my ship sinks.. I'd like my elected officials to be on tht same sinking boat being as they are why it is sinking ..

The 'phenomena' of lax enforcement of existing laws is not exclusively either parties failures, it is both.
