"Today, the combined burden of federal, state and local gas taxes costs American drivers an average of 45.9 cents on every gallon purchased. In Hawaii, the tax is 60.1 cents and in Texas 38.4 cents. In Nevada it is 51.9 cents. It is interesting that no one talks about reducing the taxes, but rather, they attack the oil companies."

Not to mention that EVERY state has its own gas blend, and many states have different blends of gas for a different time of the years. So there are over a hundred different blends, each being made at different refineries so if one goes down it causes a large shortage in one area skyrocketing the price.

We need to pretty much force Iraq to flood the market with oil to drive the price.

It also increases the price in those states. The botique blends required in states like California contribute to the price of gas, screw up distribution, and add extra operating costs for the refineries. We need to settle nationwide on three or four blends, period. Next to Hawaii, California has the highest taxes in the country on gasoline, i.e., 60 cents.
