"In a repeat of legislative history, Hawaii has shown that its politicians are neither historians nor economists."
Another example of central planning ...

I'm in south Texas and my daughter called early this evening saying that gasoline was going to go up 16 cents tonight at midnight here!
It was $2.69 during the day today.

Octane 87 was $3.05 in Eureka Ca today. Second highest in the USA. Only Lake Tahoe was more. It was $2.91 at Costco...

Today, the combined burden of federal, state and local gas taxes costs American drivers an average of 45.9 cents on every gallon purchased. In Hawaii, the tax is 60.1 cents and in Texas 38.4 cents. In Nevada it is 51.9 cents. It is interesting that no one talks about reducing the taxes, but rather, they attack the oil companies.

Good. Let gas get up to $4.95 per gallon. Then maybe this President and our GOP CONTROLLED CONGRESS will get off their lazy butts and do something. "Like what?" you ask. Like drilling for oil in ANWAR.

If I lived in Hawaii, I'd drive a motorcycle. They are such small islands that I could probably get across them on a gallon of gas or less.
