Okay, you ASKED, LOL! So, you get the whole story!
When I moved into my new home, there had been a tree in the middle of the front yard that had been removed, for whatever reason, not sure about that, but it was already gone when I moved in.
There was a large holly bush up against the house, part of the original landscaping, close to 5 feet high, that found roots in the holes where the tree had been dug up, and small holly bushes starting popping up all over the part of the yard where the tree had been, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YARD.
Last Fall, the landscape guys completely dug out the big holly bush up against the house, hoping that would get rid of the smaller sprouts. BUT NO! They have developed their own root system, and are coming up again.
So, moral of the story is, when you dig up a tree, something will take it's place, LOL!
The plant that would never die. What a pain. That is so weird that a holly would do that. I will remember this rule.
