Wow... Although not movies, I find myself watching the Firefly episodes over and over again. I just never tire of them. And of course, Serenity, the movie. I really don't know what it is about the show that I love so much, even more than the movie.

Other DVDs... "To Live and Die in LA" is awesome. "Brazil," which is what Orwell's 1984 would have looked like if done my Monty Python. "Hopscotch," with Walter Mathau. The Lord of the Rings extended edition movies. "The Usual Suspects," "Sin City," "Jackie Brown."

And then there's "Constantine" with Keaneu Reeves. Not what I'd call a great movie, but IHMO, the Devil steals the show. I think that it was genius having the devil played as a cajun! Seriously, listen to the way he talks! Awesom. The rest of the movie is OK, I guess... However, my guess is that it was Tilda Swinton's protrayal of Gabriel that won her the role of the White Witch in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe."

Mark

The list just goes on and on...

The last DVD I watched was Fight Club. I'm not a Brad Pitt fan, but I thought he did a good job here. There were some violent and disturbing scenes, but I enjoyed the acting and darkly humorous script.

Last DVD I watched all the way through was Spiderman II.

Just don't care much for movies.

It has been so long, I cannot...wait-a-minute...Chicken Little...my grandkids 1st movie at the theater. For me and my wife...I cannot remember. I've asked at times, and her response is "there is nothing I wan't to see" and I wholeheartedly agree.

The last DVD I watched was "Walk The Line". Apparently the DVD player did not like the movie because it stopped in the same place on three different disc. Never did get to see the ending, now I am left wondering if the Johnny guy & that June lady ever hooked up.

Good morning, Everyone. Good morning to our

Military, our Allies, and their families. THANK YOU.

Thank you, Mojo, for preparing the Canteen for today’s activities. Of course, y'all know by now that I really don't find it a bit funny to log on early in the morning and find over 650 posts already. It really doesn't make my day pleasant, ya know.

Morning weather report for DC Metroland. Cloudy. Warm. Rain expected early. Clearing later. 70s.

This Day In History.

April 13

1994 -- Target date for Israeli complete withdrawal, doesn't occur

1994 -- President guard at Kigali Rwanda, chops 1,200 church members to death

1959 -- USAF launches Discoverer II into polar orbit

1945 -- US marines conquer Minna Shima off Okinawa

1943 -- Nazi's discover mass grave of Polish officers near Katyn

1943 -- FDR dedicates Jefferson Memorial

1941 -- Russian-Japan no-attack treaty goes into effect

1941 -- Heavy German assault on Tobruk

1923 -- Army wins 1st college three-weapon fencing championships

1869 -- Steam power brake patented (George Westinghouse)

1865 -- Sherman's march through Georgia begins

1865 -- Battle of Raleigh, NC

1861 -- After 34 hours of bombardment, Ft Sumter surrenders to Confederates

Now a little something for you to contemplate during your day

To all newbies and lurkers

Time for me to make my rounds. But, you stay right where you are. Don't touch that dial. Don't change that channel. Put down that remote. Don't leave the room. Keep your eyes on your monitor. Cause...............I'll be bock!

Now remember, the Canteen is ALWAYS

So, come on in and sit for a while. There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS

REMEMBER THEM

DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and

our allied military and the family members of the above.

Honoring those who have served before.

Good morning ya'll!

Thanks to the most awesome military for all you guys do! Ya'll ROCK!

oohhh fun topic MoJo!
Last movie in the theater was Failure to Launch. It was okay, save your money and wait for it on DVD if you have any interest in it. Last DVD movie was the Chronicles of Narnia, both the new movie and the older Brittish movie that covered a few of the books not just The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Can't wait to hear what everyone else last watched. Hopefully I'll get a few movie ideas for my movie night next weekend :)

Have a great on ya'll!

Good Morning troops! Good Morning everyone! The last DVD I watched was Firefly, Disc 1. It has the first three episodes from the Firefly TV show which aired back in '02. I watched the first episode, entitled Serenity Parts 1 & 2. Here's today's humor attempt!

A lawyer and two buddies were fishing on Caddo Lake in Texas when a lightning storm hit. Most of the other boats immediately headed for the shore, but not our friend the lawyer. Alone on the rear of his aluminum bass boat with his buddies, this individual stood up, spread his arms wide and shouted: "HERE I AM LORD, LET ME HAVE IT!" Needless to say, God delivered. The other two passengers on the boat survived the lightning strike with minor burns.
