They don't say what kind of stem cells.
I wonder if stem cells from cord blood could, or were used?

Very Cool!
See--In a free society when you take away one option (killing babies) then ingenuity and creativity kick in ....
I have to wonder: if most people had just accepted fetal stem cell research (you know for the good of all and the ends justify the means...blah, blah) then would we have looked elsewhere (like bone marrow and cord blood)?
Libs aren't going to like this...it is hard to politicize this issue when one's own bone marrow is used.

"A similar technique used stem cells to treat patients with heart failure."
Can anyone reading this thread direct me to a site with further details, or even provide the medical terminology for this technique? My father is 77, and is slowly losing strength in his heart muscle. He is having to increase his dosage of Lasik (sp?) due to fluid buildup in his lungs. He has declined noticeably in the past week, to the point that he is winded from the slightest exertion, and has difficulty holding a conversation for any length of time. He has barely had time to enjoy his first and only grandchild, who will be three in May.
I truly appreciate any information that kind FReepers can provide. Prayers are welcome and appreciated as well.
