The treasure trove of captured documents from Saddam Husseins regime collectively known as Harmony, which are now available for translation by anyone with access to the internet, continues to yield indications of WMD programs. As much of the press continues to pick around at intelligence assessments and analyses pre- and post- war which were in error, it is carfeully averting its eyes from evidence that Saddam was hiding the illegal weapons he had, was working closely with terrorists and had every intention of continuing to produce WMDs as soon as the sanctions program -already weakened-was over. The Press ignoring facts, now there is a shock!
If the Democrats win in Nov. then this 'new' information will be considered news worthy.
Do not expect any of this to see any major news coverage until after the Nov. elections.

What no one seems to recognize is that the people working for Saddam - the scientists, engineers, technicians, and assembly line workers - are far more important than the actual weapons themselves.
Given money, time, and the political will, talented people can assemble a nuclear devise and later convert that device
into a weapon.
Bombing the facilities would have been at best a temporary setback, as its a lot easier to replace the physical facilities than it is to replace the people who work at them.
Saddam had the money and the political will, and his people were learning how to manufacture a device. Given time, they would have succeeded. From that point, the conversion to a weapon would have been a simple step.
Unless you're willing to kill the key personnel (or dry up the flow of money) the only way to end the Iraqi WMD program was to eliminate Saddam.

Sadaam could not be trusted?!
But, but, but, we had him contained?
He posed no threat to us!
It was all a fabrication to get our hands on their oil!
