Far-Left Katie Couric Move To CBS, “60 Minutes” Bad News For Christians And Conservatives
The American View ^ | John Lofton

Posted on 04/11/2006 8:08:17 PM PDT by Jeremydmccann

Katie Couric going to CBS is bad news for Christians and conservatives. She is vehemently anti-both and pro-anything on the Left — the further Left the better. According to the Media Research Center: “Since becoming co-host of NBC’s Today in April 1991, Katie Couric has often used her perch to salute her liberal heroes (including Hillary Clinton and Jimmy Carter) or complain about ‘right-wing conservatives.’ In her years on ‘Today,’ she’s lectured Charlton Heston about the need for gun control, championed the need for campaign finance ‘reform,’ and even touted the wonders of France’s nanny state.”

On the NBC “Today” show in late 2004, Couric was gushing effusively about a new movie about a certain individual. She said it was “fascinating, provocative,” that this man was “so ahead of his time,” that he had “audacity” in opposing the morals of the time. Oh, and he was “very solution oriented.” So, who was Couric talking about? One of the most despicable, criminal sex-perverts in American history, Alfred Kinsey! For the grisly details about this modern-day Marquis de Sade, go, please, to http://drjudithreisman.com.

PRAISED sex pervert Kinsey as ‘so ahead of his time.’ Couric also misses no opportunity to twist American history to try and keep religion (Christianity) out of American public life. In early 2005, in a discussion about “faith” and “politics”, she asked one guest: “Before we go, what about the concept of separation of church and state that the founding fathers believed so whole-heartedly. Where does that fit in, in your view, when it comes to Democrats and faith?” Our founders, of course, did not believe in this concept the way Couric invoked it.

What you said. Participated in an on-line poll about Couric's influence on the news. I happily clicked the "I don't care" radio button.

Personally, I think that it is great.

Next they could hire Howard Dean as their political commentator and strip away all of the pretense of being 'news' instead of just pretending to be only 50% biased.

Katie is way overpaid. Has no hard news background. And will be just a blip on the history of TV news. Story over time to move on!

I don't see how it can be bad news if conservatives and Christians don't watch Fake but Accurate reporting.

I couldn't understand why Katie Couric wanted to be a newsreader on CBS. I mean, there's only so much of one's liberal agenda that can be infused into any one newscast (remember Dan Rather and Peter Jennings). However, once I found out that she would also be a part of 60 Minutes, then I understood. There she will have the platform to disseminate her liberal agenda.

As much as I hate liberal screeds that wildly warn that some Christian will somehow encourage intolerance (witness the debate over John Ashcroft), I think I hate more screeds that wildly warn that people like Katie Couric will somehow encourage intolerance of Christians.

First, Katie's a dim bulb who hasn't had an original thought since probably the Bryant Gumbel days.

And second, our side is better -- and smarter -- than that.

There's one other thing. She is physically repulsive. She looks as though something terrible happened to her face and it was never quite put together again, correctly.

Besides that, She will be a great interviewer. Look at how well she interviewd P-Diddy, that one guy who eats all the hotdogs and let's not forget the runaway bride. Will CBS have her out doing jumping jacks with richard simmons?

Actually, I don't mind if society further polarizes itself -- with all the anti-Christians clustered on certain networks, web sites, newspapers, etc. It makes the final count much easier.
