Best way to explain this is to type the following:
<img src="type the url in between these quotes"
Then type a close carrot after the final quote. In the sentence above, the carrot before the "img" is an open carrot. Type one facing the opposite direction.
Amen.
Did you see Senator Sessions on fire last week? I saw much of what he said, unfortunately, not all.
He was p.o.'d about this shamnesty bill.
We taxpayers are just their own private gravy train. Nothing more.
No, I missed him! I still need to see him talk. It'd be good to remind myself there are still one or two senators around who haven't sold us up the river.
But of course....and they have their own special Social Security/benefits package for retirement after they've stopped robbing us while they're "working" for us.
You can count on one hand, two tops, I believe, all the Congressmen Senators who haven't done so.
You made me snicker with that, and on such a serious thread.
: )
War Damn Jeff!
The issue of a guest worker program is completely separate from the issue of illegal aliens.
We have a guest worker program. It may need to be reformed but illegal aliens are those who have not applied to be guest workers. There are 11 million of them. (or more) The only thing needing reform now concerns illegal aliens and border security. We need to enforce the existing laws respecting the presence and employment of illegal aliens and border security.
Border security is the number one problem in this debate. The flood of illegal aliens is a major factor in relation to our lack of border security but it is only one factor. There is also a matter of national security in a time of war and in an age when terrorists have set their sights on inflicting mass destruction on our society.
After the issues of border security and millions of illegal foreign nationals on our soil the matter of guest workers is very small. Until the first two problems are thoroughly and firmly addressed the guest worker issue should not even be discussed.
The President the Senate and the House need to get that message with unambiguous resolve.
Border security! No employment for illegal aliens!
Immigration and a guest worker program are separate issues from the above.
Now is the time to put the pressure on!
And to think, there are folks on this forum right now hoping this monstrosity is passed. I've spent about the last four days talking to someone who informs me that the Senators are a lot more reasoned on this than I am.
Screw that...
Hell NO, this Senate bill should be wadded up and stuffed down the troaths of anyone who planned to vote for it. Then they should get a one way ticket to Mexico City.
Its stuff like this that makes one suspicious of any immigration bill."
What makes me suspicious of it is 500 pages.
The important stuff could be put on 1 or 2 pages. The other 499 pages is camouflage to hide the fact that the important stuff isn't in the bill.
"What I can guarantee is the GOP will lose control of Congress if they pass an amnesty."
maybe true ... but what do you think of the polls that say 65% support making illegal immigrants citizens? Is America really awake to the idea that amnesty means even more illegal immigration in our future?
"Thank God Senator Sessions is doing the job the Republican Senators won't do."
Senator Sessions *is* a Republican.
And apparently, one of our best Republicans.
"The issue of a guest worker program is completely separate from the issue of illegal aliens."
Not really. Illegal immigration exists due to a supply and demand. Simply enforcing will not end the supply nor demand, based on Mexico's excess labor (due to their badly managed economy) and other 3rd world labor pools, and our job generation machine.
Guest worker is an attempt to fill the employment gap.
Here is an even simpler solution - END CHAIN MIGRATION. by ending family/chain migration, more migration can be employment based.
Good turn of phrase.
