Most people are uncomfortable with the idea of killing someone and consequently are uncomfortable with the means i.e. weapons. Guns kill people, you know. No guns, no killing.
Your wife needs to be shown the positive side of guns as in protecting your family. It might take a while, but...
Get her some good ear protection.

But she adds about 99.9 percent of those who own a gun shouldn't have one ... law enforcement is protecting you. So that would reduce the number of gun-bearers in the US to between 50-100,000.
That meaas disarming 90% of Law Enforcement. As for civilians? dream on schoolgirl.

Zonja doesn't mind having guns in the house and isn't afraid of them. She used to shoot with her brothers when she was younger. I get the feeling that it was only a few times instead of a regular thing.
It's just that she thinks she isn't very good, hasn't done it in a long time, would be using unfamiliar weapons, ect... She is also completely on board that our kids know at least the rudimentary gun safety and shooting skills.
I just gotta keep working at her...

Yeah, probably a little young... :) Still, she might be ready sooner than 7. But that's your judgment. :)
