Back in the day, Northgate made keyboards. I still have one. Northgate keybords didn't use membranes. Each key was a mechanical switch. They had a distinct click to them that you don't get any more. Their keyboards were so in demand that you could buy them seperate from the PCs. Computer Science Corp bought hundreds from me back in the day. I stand corrected! I have just read some about the Northgate Omnikey. Apparently, the same spirit lives on in the CVT Avant Stellar keyboard. Mechanical switch keyboard with click and quality keyboard enthusiasts love it. Google "avant stellar" and you'll find what you want. :-) (P.S. It's about $190)

They were $200 back then, too. I really like the programmable function keys. They have more than the standard keyboard. THose programmables are great for gaming.
