I think most of the illegals like in districts that are already solid RAT. You do have a good point that the RATS have been known to vote dead people, felons and illegals in large numbers.

The Motor-Voter law also facilitated the registering of voters that are not citizens.

There is an element in the GOP that wants cheap labor. Senator Chambless of Georgia had caved into favoring the Senate compromise because Georgia farmers want it for economic reasons.

And the difference between THIS year and every past election, besides 1.5 million new illegals every year since the last election to add to the numbers, is that immigration is at the center of the political agenda.
This is the immigrants' lives themselves on the line.
Illegals will vote in unprecedented numbers, all over the country, because they are now politically aware of this issue, and the Democrats are organizing them to vote.

Senatorial elections are statewide, so it only takes one or two rotten urban boroughs to pump up the illegal votes to the point of delivering wins to the Democrat.

In the best of times, the vote is depressed in off years, but the Republicans are especially depressed this year, because the conservatives' agenda has gone down in flames.

So, a combination of systematic organization of illegal immigrant voters like never before (coupled with the fact that every year there are literally 1.5 million more illegals in the country than there ever were before), and demoralization of the Republican base does not point to a close election.
It points to a catastrophic blowout.

Both houses of Congress are likely to go to the Dems, as the illegals turn off their cloaking device and vote.

And then the full, hard lesson of 8 years in the wilderness starts to hit home: Bush will be impeached, though not convicted and removed.
Senate Democrats will focus on the impeachment and on getting Mrs. Clinton into office.

Once she's there, with a Democratic Congress, the Senate DEMOCRATS will exercise the nuclear option and end the filibuster the FIRST TIME that the Republicans try to block any major policy initiative (like amnesty for illegals). The Democrats saw the power of this. And they know that if they get the apparatus of power, then THEY control the electronic voting machines that don't have the paper trail.

Nothing can stop this catastrophe from happening to the GOP. But Americans could organize a fresh party that wants the border closed and is not beholden to business.
