I disagree with the premise that Newt acted on his lonesome and that he didn't seize upon what Perot had seen in his view of the body public.I never said Newt acted on his lonesome either. He was, the author of the CWA, those who stood with him on Capitol Hill were in essence, co-sponsors.

You can't admit that Newt(and the republicans) appealed to Perot's supporters to win over Congress.
The only reason I so adamant on this point is that in this coming election and in 08, appealing to those discontented with what is going on right now in the government will make or break the leadership of congress.
We must offer New Ideas that appeal to the hopes of those discontented, silly as it seems Perot and Newt both understood that.
