Perhaps this line of questioning is being pursued in an effort to create a definitive position on the subject.
With an endorsement from the owner of the site, some of the "party before principle" members might feel that they occupy a superior position.

Not really, I was just wondering HIS, personal position on the subject. I don't see him chat very often. Airing his personal opinion on the matter doesn't or wouldn't change the site goals.
