"The leeches are those who make up a particular voting block in the Conservative movement, who want to throw the whole movement out the window for their own rigid need to proselytize."

Some of us that believe the Creator is very much in control, and respect the blessings that this nation has been afforded. Remember Abraham and his count down with the Heavenly Father to "ten" righteous persons being enough in the saving of Sodom and Gomorrah. Some of us intend NOT to allow that number to fall below "10", in spite of what the movement of evolution seeks.

You state voting Libertarian is better than voting Republican. Below is taken from the Libertarian site.

The Libertarian Party has long recognized the importance of allowing free and open immigration, understanding that this leads to a growing and more prosperous America......

Studies also show that not only do immigrants not take jobs away from American workers, they also do not drive down wages. Numerous studies have demonstrated that increased immigration has little or no effect on the wages of most American workers, and may even increase wages at upper income levels....

Your Libertarian Party stands with the far left on this
as they do with many other issues.
They are against the war as is other pseudo conservative third parties.
All this, just another way to vote in liberalism.

I would also like to remind everyone, that Free Republic does not condone racism and does not advocate violence.

Oh really? You could have fooled me. Perhaps you haven't seen all those "hate New Orleans" threads, where not only is the total destruction of a major U.S. city and all of it's residence advocated, but praised.

"We fight for conservative principles, values and causes."

Ok, OHHkaaay! In the poll, answering that I would not vote in the upcoming elections was a lie and it's absolutely not the answer. Thanks for the reminder!

Bears repeating.....

Third the acceptance of the "Hispanics" moniker and rejection of the hyphenated American moniker. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. The origin of African-American and Mexican-American lay in a rejection of American racism of the earlier part of the twentieth century. It was a time (and I'm old enough to remember it) when people casually went around making a distinction between "Americans" (i.e white people) and others. It was rooted in a declaration that "others" were Americans too. "Hispanics" is a totally racist designation,(i.e a tribal designation based in biology). It rejects the founding motto of this country, E Pluribus Unum, the hyphenated American tag embraces it. Turning all Americans of Mexican descent into Hispanics is the surest way to guarantee that the principles that founded this nation die in this century.

Or to quote Theodore Roosevelt:

"The men who do not become Americans and nothing else are hyphenated Americans; and there ought to be no room for them in this country. The man who calls himself an American citizen and who yet shows by his actions that he is primarily the citizen of a foreign land, plays a thoroughly mischievous part in the life of our body politic. He has no place here; and the sooner he returns to the land to which he feels his real heart-allegiance, the better it will be for every good American. There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else...." - Theodore Roosevelt

You raise very valid and accurate points, Varda. Please don't let up. - OB1

If we lose now, Dems will NEVER make the mistake of not having enough Dead, Fraudulent or illegal voters again......

Mary Poppins will be a Regular in every Dem precinct, and we won't be able to do a DAMN thing about it.....

The leeches are those who make up a particular voting block in the Conservative movement,

I may misunderstand you on this, but are you of the opinion that Evangelical Christians (without whom the modern conservative movement would barely exist) are "the leeches?"

YES - Because the Republicans are not going to get these "so-called" Hispanic votes. We when we reward lawbreakers we are no better that then Democrats. When individuals or groups can decide with impunity which laws they will or will not follow then CIVILAZATION is lost. It's madness.

Excerpt from a CNN news report:

"Democrats have been involved in negotiations over the Hagel-Martinez plan but have not committed to supporting it.

"The Senate had appeared deadlocked earlier Wednesday, with the Democratic and Republican leaders sparring over which party was preventing progress on the issue.

"GOP senators expressed frustration at Democratic efforts to block consideration of amendments until after the cloture vote.

"Their comments came amid intense behind-the-scenes negotiations in an attempt to reach an agreement that would garner 60 votes -- and amid heated election-year debate over procedure on the Senate floor."

CNN's Ted Barrett, Dana Bash and Suzanne Malveaux contributed to this report.

I for one thought I was a liberal until 9/11 (college indoctrination, living in New York, advocacy journalism). I would never vote for an "R," as Republicans were evil, movies taught me that all corporations were run by murderers, etc.

A journey through reading about conservative policy ideas, listening to Rush and finally finding this site has opened my eyes. I now look at Republicans as not evil, but watered-down conservatives, beaten down by DC and journalists who continuously try to swing public opinion towards Dems. As much as I now find myself to the right of the Republican politicians, I can say with eyes wide open that I wouldn't vote "D" even when I'm upset with my RINO state leaders. At least they aren't closet communist hippies.

Thanks Jim for providing an incredible meeting place for conservative ideas. And for reminding everyone what kind of site this is.

We are talking about the deliberate, planned death of our way of life and of our nation as a nation--not just of our Constitution. The Marxist socialist globalist tyranny folks are playing for keeps. They may manipulate and use the clueless marchers with clever organization and skillful manipulation of the puppet strings.

You are dead on accurate with that statement.

Jim,

It's your site, and I concur with banning certain posters (like Stormfront retards), but I respectfully disagree with letting Matt go.

Compare his last post with the many explicit calls for executions on this thread: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1591827/posts

The thread (minus one or two of the most egregious posts) is still there, as are the most egregious posters.

He also said he would sign an extension, as I recall.

I don't think we could have gotten meaningful immigration reform past the Democrats after 9/11 as they had control of the Senate then (thanks to Jim Jeffords switch and Hillary holding up newspapers that read "Bush Knew").

As long as 60 votes are needed in the Senate to a bill to pass, nothing the Dems hate will make it over the wall.

"How much does that steel fence cost per foot anyway?"

I haven't put the pencil to paper on that calculation. However, I expect it would be less than the money we're now spending on housing illegal immigrants in our prisons (27-29% of the prison population?) Also less than what American taxpayers spend on paying for education and emergency room treatment for illegals. Certainly less than the hundreds of billions we've spent in Iraq keeping Sunnis and Shiites from slitting each others' throats.

I'm for reduced federal spending, but one place I'm willing to make an exception is our national security. I believe a fence would promote that and so I'd support repealing MediPill and the pork in the last Highway Bill and redirect those monies to an Israeli-type fence along our southern border.

Didn't he run on the Libertarian Ticket ?

Nope. In fact, that ticket didn't exist in 1980.

As I said before, he endorsed Mondale, and he endorsed Nader in 2000 and 2004. Nothing conservative or libertarian about Anderson.
