That's what drove this, I think more than anything else -- and the realization that if they are going to continue to grow, given the sectors they've targeted, there are lots of immigrants in those sectors. So it's why Willie Sutton robbed banks. If there are new members to be had, that's where they are.

And so it is with political parties. If there are new voters to be had, that's where the Democrats are.

That's all these people are to the DNC -- a piece of meat who, someday, might vote. Why would the GOP believe they can out-pander the Democrats for the illegal vote?

Organized labor is castrating itself, but only the retards in their ranks turn out for this purpose lately.

My union walked away from AFLCIO, but our magazine now prints its articles in spanish, french and anglo, even as illegals undermine the cost structure of the business the union claims to protect.

I figure that I can renounce my citizenship and take a $20.00/hour pay cut to remain in the business...

Yaright.

I was a bit surprised at the numbers here in SLC (they're still debating how many showed up yesterday, a conservative estimate was 25,000. The organizer put it at 30,000.) A local radio host said that it was like waving a red flag at a bull when the protestors carry the flag of Mexico or carry the American flag upside down. They have lost support because of those shenanigans.

And predictably, Rocky Anderson, mayor of Salt Lake City, came and praised the protestors. He's stuck in the sixties with all of the protests against the Vietnam war.

I heard in a few cities that the progressive Democrats had tables where the protestors could register to vote.

I have been impressed in the sense that it dramatizes the enormous size of the problem. I don't see how anybody can see millions of illegals marching and not be impressed with what a large problem we have.

Exactly right. And how much of a bigger problem it will be in 20 years if we don't do something now.

Perhaps they believe that such a show of force will impress many Americans. On the other hand, it might just alarm them.

You bet Americans were alarmed! People all over the country got to see just how many foreign invaders there are in this country. I'll bet they were totally shocked to think the invasion had gotten this out of control. In my opinion, the left just handed us the immigration issue on a silver platter!

If a US government were elected by non-citizens, it would be illegitimate--an oppressor to be thrown off.

My feelings exactly.

I was not impressed at all the illegals in the streets.

My immediate response was, "Who the hell let all those undocumented strangers into this country?"

There should be hell to pay.

Not just registration tables. You've seen the photograph of the Democrat party flyer with the "Let's Work Together" headline...over a graphic of Texas and Mexico in the same color?

It's on the Dallas protest thread.

It's as if the DNC is promoting sedition...

Unions sold themselves to the "highest bidder". Why does this not surprise me?

Yep. I still have to show my driver's license and another form of ID when I apply for a new job. I get to pay all those taxes. The thing they don't get or refuse to see is that with those rights come responsibilities: obey the law, pay taxes, etc. I know of a case where a young man of 22 fell in love with a woman from Peru (23). She was here on a student visa. They got married. They wanted to make her a legal citizen, so they went to the INS office here. 'Go back to Peru, get your papers in order, then come back here.' She was pregnant. She went to Peru, being assured it was just paperwork that was holding her up. The Peru government threw all sorts of roadblocks at her for a few months, then the paperwork straightened itself out. She was ready to come home and have her baby when the American government (bureaucracy) got into action and denied her entrance. Her papers weren't in order. She had the baby (with complications). This was three years ago and the bureaucracy still can't get its act together. Her husband has seen her twice (he's flown down, but it is expensive.)

So I just want to know why all of these illegals get a pass? All of the 'legal' immigrants I know go through so much to get their green cards and other papers to be legal. Appointments that are cancelled at a moment's notice and another one isn't available for three months, or they wait in the office for six hours and the office closes for the day (thereby missing a day of work.) The INS needs to be overhauled. Sorry to rant.
