At least the more recent illegals don't make out bad financially. They have learned how to up that low hourly wage to a pretty high hourly wage by charging a little extra for this and a little extra for that, using the poor me approach so successfully that the employer usually doesn't even realize how much he is paying this person.
Maybe others have used this ploy to progress, but there is one issue here that aggravates me. The 'poor Mexicans' are absolved of criminality because their own country doesn't want to be responsible for them, and they seem to have been coached that it is their right to encroach on the prosperity of the United States. There is never a word of pathos given to the people of other poor countries who may want just as much to advance their station in life as Mexicans, but who do not have the advantage of an easy border to cross and people willing to look the other way at their criminality. Those people are being cheated by the Mexicans and our very own government. That is not equality.
