I don't really buy this explanation - but thought I'd pass it along.

So...not Al Qaeda, but just your regular, garden-variety Muslims? Maybe that's what we should be prepared for now.

This is more disturbing than finding out it was linked to Al Qaeda. But... what the hey... it feels like a train we're not going to have the fortitude to stop until one of our major cities is a crater...

Oh, no, they were just a part of the independent terrorist organization. This is different from al-Qaida in that they only want to kill English infidels as opposed to al-Qaida that wants to kill everyone that isn't a muslim!/Sar. Notice how they try to put the blame on the internet. The internet allowed them to find out how to build a bomb! Right, and without it they would have been just good ordinary citizens without an evil thought in their pointy little heads!

To be Al-Quaida, does one have a secret handshake, a membership card, or pay dues? If someone sees all the idiocy the fundies do, becomes wistful thinking they could become that "important" by blowing themselves up, is this not Al-quaida related? Sort of like the biker who buys a Hog, puts on dirty jeans and leather and portrays himself as a bad ass hoping to be 'like' the Hell's Angels.

Early on after 9/11, it was widely reported in the media that al-Quaeda is a loose-knit organization with lots of splinter groups, semi-affiliated organizations, hangers-on, and wannabees. So I have trouble with a blanket assertion that the London bombings were "not the work of al-Quaeda." I don't think al-Quaeda has clearly defined borders.
