I just don't get it. The fines (up to $10 thou and/or imprisonment) have been law for 20 years now regarding employers who hire illegals. I was doing human resources then and we had to jump through hoops to comply. WTH happened? A few weeks ago, I got flamed for stating that the law of demand and supply applies here and instead of trying to imagine deporting millions - enforce the laws with the employers. Sure we may suffer a while with the loss of cheap labor but we will come full circle eventually.
Complacency and the status quo. That's as near as I can figure it.
I think there may be enough people who are waking up and saying 'h3ll no' that we may be able to instill some political will and resolve behind those few politicians who do get it.
And those few who do get it need to hear from us and get our support.
