I listened to all the hype on Monday and the MSM interviews, and all the crapola. You would never believe they were illegal and had broken our laws. Most interviewed if pushed might agree that a law had been broken, but "that law is wrong and has to be changed." I interpret that to mean do away with borders. IF THE SENTATE HAS THEIR WAY, THEY WILL GO EXACTLY THAT!!! Anyone hear the Swimmer addressing the illegals in SPANISH? What pandering - they see this as the only help they have to boost their voting roles. We have lost the country I have to admit, IMHO.
If they are illegal, then there is no way for them to earn a living here without breaking the law.
Under-the-table wages or low-skill labor does very little to contribute and the cost far outweighs any benefits. Amnesty talk only sends the message "COME ON DOWN!" and I preferred the message "if you are here illegally, your days are numbered".
What's wrong with sending them back to their own country and making them responsible for building a better life for themselves there? Because many come to this country not for work...just an invasion by non-military means (they know they'd get their tails kicked and lose more turf) promoted by their government to get rid of the "undesirables".
Since the Mexican illegal is topic of discussion this week, it's their "government" which promotes breaking our laws...and shows them how to undermine this country by bleeding us dry. To send foreign agents to undermine this country from within is an Act of War.
The "economic" and amnesty argument says breaking the law is okay, regardless how neatly packaged. If I don't like the speed limit...does that mean I can drive 100 MPH through your neighborhood and not expect consequences? I'm sure your neighbors wouldn't mind.
Plenty of citizens working under the table and under radar of taxes, but it's not low-skilled labor that drives the economy. The boom comes from people having more money in their pockets to buy stuff. If all the illegals went home tomorrow, nothing would change except there would be plenty of unskilled labor jobs available.
Apparently deportation isn't working...nor is jailing them. Stiffer punishments for both the illegal and those who'd employ them isn't going to work if not enforced or if business doesn't do what it's supposed to when screening applicants - hire citizens or go through proper procedures for hiring non-citizens.
Anyone who rewards an illegal with a job is guilty of helping that illegal stay here and should be tossed out too. Citizenship is earned, not given and if they were valuable to business and only wanted to work, they would stay where we are sending much of our manufacturing - Mexico!
You want to see the biggest economic boom in history, eliminate the IRS and let people keep their own money. Eliminate union dues and other kickbacks to the DNC, so the DUmocrats may be forced to be honest for a change.
Another sure-fire method for a big boost to the economy is to put a bounty on the head of illegals and those who support them, allow ranchers to defend their property, wipe out the thugs who run the flesh trade on both sides of the border, and EMPLOY AN AMERICAN FIRST (rather than allow business to seek kickbacks or amnesty for employing illegals) as policy.
Have the INS in force at the "protests" and round up the illegals and deport them - since they are gathering, it should make easy work of the job at hand. When their military crosses our border or shoots at our border agents, they are wiped of the face of the earth. That would make a difference in sending the right message.
Maybe McLoon (and other illegal appeasers promoting amnesty) could retire from the senate and start that cabbage farm he's always dreamed of.
