(04/09/06) MASSAPEQUA PARK - Hundreds of protesters raised signs and their voices outside the office of Congressman Peter King (R-Seaford) Sunday.
The demonstrators are opposed to King’s sponsorship of legislation that could label immigrants and those who help them felons. King also wants to erect a 700-mile long wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Protesters call the bill an un-American, unfair crackdown on undocumented immigrants.
Congressman King says his bill is an effort to beef up national security and he won’t bow to public pressure. A different bill that would have given undocumented workers a chance at citizenship failed to pass in the Senate last week.
It seems to me that republicans should be passing out copies of this flyer at all union business and say something like "do the democrats care about you? do the democrats care about the country?"

The voter requirements in many states are an absolute joke.
This doesn't make sense. If they are illegal aliens why would they care about when they should vote? I mean, if they aren't US citizens they can't vote. Oh, wait a minute... It is a Democrat voter drive and I forgot that anyone, living or dead, real or imaginary, registered or unregistered, legal or illegal, has their vote counted when they check the name next to the "D"...

I went to Lowes last week. They were remodeling and apologized for any inconvenience I might suffer. The "remodeling" consisted of making all signs, product info, and price tags bi-lingual. English and Spanish! I asked one of the workers why the he!! they were doing that, and he wouldn't even respond! Company policy?
Denial is not just a river in Egypt. Keep portraying the conservative/GOP agenda as condoning an underground labor market of coyotes, forced prostitution, and paying off the CIS clerks. A more focused approach of demanding GOVERNMENT REFORM of USCIS, ICE, and CBP will do more for improving the image of the GOP/conservatives. Demanding reform of a class or group of people that have tremendous popular and political support, is Quixotic.
We've got to make it as easy as possible for illegals to live and stay here. We don't want them to get mad and leave.
There are a hell of lot of them participating in these marches that have IDs and voter registration cards. They ain't all illegals.

Calling them names, asking that their parents become felons, and burning the Mexican flag in front of the Mexican consulate will help quite a bit to recruit them as Republicans.
I hope that was sarcasm! Reid denouncing the immigration lobby (read Democrat voter registration effort) is about as likely as all the Mexicans in California suddenly packing up and moving south of the border.
