The Bush Justice Department is no friend of state's rights and common sense. In a case of political correctness insanity, U.S Attorney Alberto Gonzalez forced Virginia Beach's police department to hire minorities who failed to pass their math test. Here we have a Republican Administration decreeing we can't expect blacks and Hispanics to do as well in math as whites. We just have to accept math-challenged minorities as cops as the price of equality.

Bush is great with tax cuts, the WOT, and judges. That's about it (and that ain't bad). We are going to have to be content with that.

RE: great with tax cuts, WOT, and judges--the judges SEEM pretty good--but what have they done for us to demonstrate it outright so far? We'll have a few test cases coming up soon that will make them show their stripes. I'm pleased with tax cuts, not so pleased with border enforcement which is a component of the WOT, and still unsure but optimistic about the judges (though happier than I expected to be after the Miers mess).

Someone please tell me again the difference between Republicans and Democrats. I seem to have lost the distinction watching the Alice-in-Wonderland world called Washington D.C.

NWO was his daddy's order of the day. Since then, we have had an outright liar and his next cousin. At least the last, has tried to keep the wolves at bay. I and most I know, are almost fed up.

Lowering standards will make it easier for more thugs, scofflaws and scoundrels to enter the field, just as it has done in the House and Senate...

I am really surprised that this is the first time you have noticed that tests for employment have been dumbed-down for minorities. Its been happening for twenty years.

Not only that but after they are hired they dumb down their test scores for promotion.

The white man has been getting the shaft from dumbed down tests for many years, where have you been?

The "white" man is a second class citizen and subject to all sorts of "legal" discrimination.

Did you ever hear of an 8a set aside. If you have what the govt. defines as a small black or hispanic owned business you get the privilege of a sole source contract with the federal govt. Also most if not all states have the same or similar laws.

If you are "white" and make too much money, you will probably not get scholarships to college. But, if you are perceived as a racial minority, whatever that is, you will probably get heavy scholarships.

There are many racial preferences embedded in job hiring, job rating, and job firing all throughout America.

So don't be surprised at the preferential treatment.

The best hope for us now is that the Supreme Court will outlaw it. My guess is that there will be lots of violence to restore these rights, and many people will be harmed or worse. I ask myself, how could anyone get away with taking the rights of people away and not suffer the consequences?

New Jersey decided it needed more minority state troopers. This was BEFORE 9/11

They hired a black Superintendent of Police.

His solution, lower the requirement for two years of college for recruits.

He was willing to count life experience in lieu........

The insidious message was that minorities couldn't meet the standard.

Not a word of complaint from anyone, including our complicit media.

You are so right. We might as well have had Gore or Kerry as Commander in Chief.

What's to say that with a 60% passing in math that the 90% of whites pass and 65% blacks and 70% hispanics. Still a pattern of discrimination.

Stupid.

The federal government has long since dumbed down the tests for federal employment. Why wouldn't they expect the states to do the same?
Have you been to a federal agency fiels office lately?
