Perhaps it was hushed up quickly because the discovery was not something they wanted known to 'insurgents' or terrorists until the cache could be dealt with by removal or destruction by coalition forces. Not a bad idea, except they saw it had been cleared out within a couple of days, and still not a peep to anyone about what had been found. We're not talking a small amount, either--we're talking about a sizeable gymnasium-sized building stacked with this crap.
