A wall would work - it's a physical structure that people would have a very hard time getting over and it's not like it wouldn't be patrolled.
It is not clear why so many are trying to act like a wall is akin to thin piece of paper.

Unfortunately, the 2 steps that would solve the immigration problem and make the current illegals deport would never be allowed by Bush either - cutting off social services to illegals and cracking down on employers.
I am not disagreeing with you regards the need for a wall. I am simply stating that, IF one is built, and a substantial one out of necessity, it still must be enforced, with violent consequences, and certain, should someone test the barrier. Otherwise, it may as well be planned and constructed by the people who build senator Byrd's freeways, and just as useless.
