That's clearly at the root of our current relationship with Venezuela.
Can't decide whether that means we're doing exactly the right thing - with what's evidently a formal unspoken US policy of benign neglect of (all) Latin America - or doing exactly the wrong thing by the policy, which amounts to a complete abrogation of the Monroe Doctrine.
Perhaps someone knows what they're doing.

I think Latin America will just need to stew in its old, naive view of Socialism, and continue to suffer the results until they finally chuck it up for good...They can't have us to blame if they vote in the fools and their economies tank once again...
