It was 4 o'clock on Friday afternoon, March 31. In a spacious bilevel Greenwich Village loft, two men sat on wrought-iron chairs across from each other at a round glass table.
One was Jared Paul Stern, the New York Post's Page Six reporter and magazine editor. The other was Ron Burkle, a West Coast billionaire investor who had rented the loft for a month while he was in New York City considering new acquisitions, including a $2.2 billion bid for a chain of 12 newspapers.
But this bit of newspaper business with Stern was different.

Hey, I thought Snoodles was my girlfriend!!!
The nerve...the beatch had to let me learn the truth on Free Republic.
I'm often reminded of Claude Rains in Casablanca: "I'm shocked to discover gambling going on here! Shocked!"
Truly, does this surprise ANYONE? Anywhere on the political spectrum?
I'm sure it's Bush's fault somehow...
Thanks for the pings. I had read all of the first one and couldn't believe that it was this March the writer was talking about until I checked the March calendar.
Also, where is the famous NY Attorney General when all of this was happening and afterwards?
The second link is excellent, and I missed it.
Burkle is Californias home boy Billionaire like George $orA$$. He may be as dangerous.
He missed a headline? Hard to believe, huh?
The article says the US Attorney and the FBI were coordinating the tapings.
One of my standing jokes is where is Spitzball or Spitzer, the NY AG, the defender of the small guy. He is all show and worthless as an AG of an important state.
