Brownback inherited the Bob Dole agribusiness (ADM, Monsanto, etc.) farm lobby. He's whoring himself to business interests that depend on government subsidies (soybeans, ethanol, etc.) and illegal labor to show a profit.
Brownback is an ideological gigolo.

Therefore ending any hopes of winning the nomination for President in 2008. Meanwhile, in the Peoples' Republic of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney says he will sign into law a sweeping healthcare bill endorsed by Hillary Clinton. And we all know about McCain's bill to grant amnesty to illegal aliens.
They're all starting to weed themselves out early, aren't they?

Vote for George Allen!I don't think so, as long as this club of one hundred support their ten horn dictator rules, there isn't one of them I'd vote for. Where in the constitution does it say that a senator has the power to place a hold on anything?

These illegals should first have to serve in the army. Since they are so good at sneaking into other countries, they can be the first deployed ground forces going into Iran. Imagine, 12 million of them swarming into Iran and taking every job "that iranians won't do", and overwelming Irans social network, prisons, etc.
Politicians just aren't thinking.

It's no wonder very other country in the world wants tariffs on American produce. it's so heavily subsidized, and if that's not enough, it is allowed to have practically slaves as laborers.
Drop the subsidies, toss out the slaves, and let the market reflect the real cost of production. Then smaller farmers would be able to make a living, and "the jobs nobody wants to do" would at least pay a living wage.

It's worse than just Brownback's insanity... the Republican party has turned on its conservative base with a vengeance. It's 'gonna be ugly come November. Jennings called it a 'temper-tantrum' in 1996... they're 'gonna call this one a 'massacre'.

Said Brownback: "I've been in a pro-immigration position for some period of time, and I believe strongly in it. (I believe) that this is a nation of immigrants and that we should be welcoming, that we should be compassionate."
If I hear this crap one more time...
We were once a nation of immigrants but that roughly ended 70 - 80 years ago. We are the children, grandchildren, etc of immigrants. There are relatively few (percentage-wise) legal immigrants here.
Also, this isn't a nation built of immigrants any more than it is a nation built of capitalists, doctors, indian chiefs, or illegals. Everyone plays a role. What simple, stupid, and deceitful rhetoric.
Brownback should be ashamed to misstate like this.

That's alright, makes way for an ACTUAL conservative that honors their nation and it's laws.

The U.S. is estimated at 298 million in population.
About how many of these are really illegals taking a dead person's SSN?
How much of this population is anti-immigration that actually votes?
Voter apathy is a killer when it comes to the poles. I bet the illegals who are voting do not have this voter apathy and the political powers that be know it. I bet the illegal vote gets very close to a 100% turnout.
http://elections.gmu.edu/voter_turnout.htm
2004 Election Data
Summary
Bush 62,041,268 50.73%
Kerry 59,028,548 48.27%
Total (all candidates) 122,293,720 Turnout rate among voting-eligible: 60.3%
Margin of Victory 3,012,720 2.46%
As we can see, the margin of victory is very narrow and with a few million illegal immigrant votes it can push the balance one way or another.

Kansas would be one of the less effected states under the criminal amnesty bill. Perhaps Brownback feels he can build some "get into heaven points" without hurting his reelection position. And Senator...you are no Ronald Reagan.I don't think that you're right about the sheer number of illegal aliens in Kansas. First off, if you go to KCK, there are plenty of parts of town where you will NOT hear English spoken at all. Many fast food places have people working there who barely speak English at all. And it's been my experience that at many meat packing plants, nearly everyone is Hispanic. I have no idea what percentage might be illegal aliens, but the vast majority of production floor workers are hispanic.

During the debate look at those Senators up for reelection and those that don't face election for 6 years. It's amazing (scar) the amount of Senators that are for immigration amnesty that don't face reelection till 2010. And those opposed that face reelection in NOV. It's basically those up for reelection in 2008 that will decide this thing. If those Senators think that we voters will forget when 2008 roles around we will have Amnesty. If on the other hand they come to the conclusion that this problem will get worse by 2008 we will not have it.
