UH-oh. Serious Tim is showing up on the preview. However, I can't tell if he is serious because of Bush bashing or serious because he's after Kerry. Stay tuned.

Will any of the "sharpest knives in the journalistic drawer" ever mention the meeting John Kerry "convened" in Al Franken's upper west side NY apartment in December of 2003 when Kerry was dead last in the Dem primary race and Howard Dean led all Dem candidates by double digits?

Kerry pledged to renounce his vote and his support for the Iraq War in exchange for the media's destruction of Howard Dean and the promotion of Kerry's candidacy.

Jeff Greenfield, Howard Fineman, Jonathan Alter, representatives from network and cable tv, Time, Newsweek, the Nation, The New Yorker, gave Kerry another opportunity to betray our country and our troops and Kerry grabbed it.

And all through the Dem primary these people wrote and appeared on tv screens daily "reporting" on a race that they had already fixed.

Did Russert know of the meeting? A representative of NBC news was there. Did this meeting and what transpired influence Russert's interviews with Howard Dean and Kerry during the primary campaign?

A meeting of journalism's power players with a candidate who goes from dead last at the time of the meeting to front runner in three months would have historic significance. Why has this meeting been kept a secret by the participants?

Great point. The same thing happened with Bob Dole. He's a good guy but the "it's his turn" mantra was poorly done and the vote was depressed. IF McCain were to get the nomination, I cannot envision how that would get out the vote to support him, and Republicans will lose due to low voter turnout.

I mentioned this meeting to my daughter the other day. She was outraged at a local story that was nothing but a lie. I pointed out that she has learned why I dislike the media, and told her about this meeting. She is convinced I have misunderstood, and that this just couldn't be true.

I have more work to do with that girl. She is too trusting of the media.

I wish to bring to the attention of all the Sunday regulars and lurkers the excellent work Freeper Jveritas has been doing. He has been translating the Saddam docs the Establishment media has been IGNORING. Yesterday, one of the bloggers at either Capt Quarters or Power-line announced that he had had the above doc independently translated by a professional translator in London. There almost no difference between professional and Jveritas translation. This is what we need to be doing to build the new media. Once again the New Media has more completely, competently and timely covered an issue of great significance that STILL has yet to be covered by the "Professional Journalists". Jveritas has done more real journalism ON HIS OWN TIME, then any of the professional Journalists in Sunday Show Talking Heads do in a year. They simply have NO credible excuse any longer for ignoring this story
