Flat out, we are not going to get good PR from the media. I think that is what is causing you to be doubtful. But it is good to raise the question of how best to approach the Senators... and don't forget the White House!

And, honestly El Patriota, we do not need to bow and scrape to our elected representatives. They work for US. Our job is to straighten them out.

If you enforce the present laws we would not have a problem. Why can't we enforce the existing law? My father got deported in 1944 when they check his citizenship because he was mangager at a defense plant. He was brought into the country when he was six months old and did not get registered.
