Inside Politics: 'A little too cute' (Democrats 'Iraq vet' strategy could be coming up short)

"The 'Iraq veteran' political strategy that Democrats hope will sweep them into Congress could be coming up short much-touted vet Tammy Duckworth, a helicopter pilot who lost both legs in combat, barely won her Illinois Democratic primary," the New York Post's Deborah Orin writes.
"Duckworth scraped by in a squeaker, winning by just over 1,000 votes and 44 percent of the vote in a three-way race despite the backing of stars like Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the only TV ads, and outspending her chief rival 7-1," Miss Orin said.
"More worrisome, the primary drew low turnout, suggesting Duckworth doesn't attract new voters. In Illinois, you don't have to be pre-registered as a Democrat so voters drawn by Duckworth's story could have voted for her.
"And fans of defeated rival Christine Cegelis, who was also anti-war, were livid. They burned up liberal blogs with threats to sit on their hands in November and attacks on Duckworth backers like Sen. John Kerry.
"The problem for Dems is that enlisting anti-war Iraq veterans may be a little too cute trying to have it both ways by being both for and against the Iraq war.
"The same kind of take-both-sides strategy did nothing for 2004 loser Kerry, who thought being a Vietnam vet would give him special credibility on Iraq. Not!"

Rahm Emanuel Mossad agent? That is highest praise ever for that one.And most likely not true.
Note how he bigfooted in to the northside district, once the home of Rosty. I think his father had a house in the district (?).Now Maj Duckworth of Hawaii is from the 6th district?
He only steps on the toes of the little people.

The LameStream Media won't say it, and elected Republicans won't say it, and Republican candidates won't say it. Few pundits will say it, but those of us at the grass roots can and do say it: Democrat party operatives and activists hate the military and hope for America's defeat in Iraq.

Rahm Emanuel, from many indications, is someone you do not want to forget to keep your eye on.
Rahm and Hillary, in my view, are two of the smartest deceivers in politics, and everything I have been able to find out about them makes me want to watch both of them ever more closely. The idea that they have political power to carry out their plans is most frightening to me (as well as their connections).
Examples follow:
Excerpts from a Rolling Stone article about Rahm Emanuel:
The Enforcer
Rep. Rahm Emanuel is leading the Democratic charge to retake the House next year. Will his old-school
combativeness rub off on his more timid colleagues? .....The answer depends, in many ways, on Rep. Rahm
Emanuel of Chicago.
For years, Emanuel was the political brains of Bill Clinton's White House. Intense to the point of ferocity,
...... "Clinton loved Rahm," recalls one staffer, "because he knew that if he asked Rahm to do something, he
would move Heaven and Earth -- not necessarily in that order -- to get it done."
........
Other Clinton veterans are even more pointed about Emanuel's assets. "He's got this big old pair of brass
balls, and you can just hear 'em clanking when he walks down the halls of Congress," says Paul Begala, who
served with Emanuel on Clinton's staff. "The Democratic Party is full of Rhodes scholars -- Rahm is a road
warrior. He's just what the Democrats need to fight back."
Friends and enemies agree that the key to Emanuel's success is his legendary intensity. There's the story
about the time he sent a rotting fish to a pollster who had angered him. There's the story about how his
right middle finger was blown off by a Syrian tank when he was in the Israeli army. And there's the story of
how, the night after Clinton was elected, Emanuel was so angry at the president's enemies that he stood up
at a celebratory dinner with colleagues from the campaign, grabbed a steak knife and began rattling off a
list of betrayers, shouting "Dead! . . . Dead! . . . Dead!" and plunging the knife into the table after
every name. "When he was done, the table looked like a lunar landscape," one campaign veteran recalls. "It
was like something out of The Godfather. But that's Rahm for you."
Of the three stories, only the second is a myth -- Emanuel lost the finger to a meat slicer as a teenager
and never served in the Israeli army. But it's a measure of his considerable reputation as the enforcer in
Clinton's White House..........

'hope' is the correct term. I use that instead of 'pray' when describing the libs for obvious reasons.
