Unless something dramatic happens, our country will move closer to a civil war so the people can take back what is theirs. The COUNTRY.

You're giving the American peole way too much credit. A lot of Americans seem more interested in who won American Idol than what's going on in Washington.

You are even giving the Republicans too much credit - I can post a thread about something the government is doing that is very anti-Conservative, and it'll get a small number of responses. I can post a thread about a celebrity bashing Bush, and it'll get hundreds or thousands of responses.

I see things keeping on as they are - more and more government, more and more government power, and more and more people that rely on the government.

I do see the parties losing a lot of supporters, and I see some third parties potentially making gains, but that's about as close as it'll get to "Civil War".

Sadly, I believe you are correct. As long as no one messes with their sports programs or Oprah/Phil...life is good in their eyes.

I'm a local elected Republican Precinct Commitee Officer, but I'd quit the party and join a Conservative Party in a heartbeat. We've lost out party from top to bottom. Even our county party is tone deaf to what the grassroots says. I probably shouldn't say we lost it, actually it was stolen by RINOS and Liberals. Once they get any power at all, they run like little dictators. On this matter of Illegals, looks like we've lost our country to an army of invading peasants and the government refuses to fire a shot.

Ah, until the bill comes due...sometime in the next 10-15 years when Social Security begins to run a deficit. Then the fun begins when our politicians turn out their pockets and sheepishly admit that "we just don't have the money, folks!"

Then we'll either cut loose a lot of people, or raise taxes to obscene levels. Neither will go over well.
