Lack of perfection is not total failure and thus not a reason not to make effort to do better than we do today.

You stated in no uncertain terms you would keep the status quo over attempting to do better. Indeed we can do better, you simply do not want to do better, much less even try.

I spend a lot of time near the border...and no, they are not secure. It amazes me that illegals take the desert route across or pay a coyote. It is really simple to cross a little river and get into the US.

I'm with you. When your Senator is home for the two-week recess, make sure he/she hears from you at the local senatorial office. Let them know that amnesty in any form is OUT until the border has been closed down to criminals and terrorists. That may help a spine to grow during the recess.
