McCain was in front of cameras, now it's the Cape Cor Orca - annoucning that a "key Senate test vote" on the immigration bill has failed.

Kennedy is deeply disappointed.

Surprise, surprise.

Anyone here surprised?

These news clips on the President - - they must have received their fax from the DNC.
Susan Turnbull (DNC) was on FNC w Greg Jarrett earlier. She's regularly on FNC and I do not like her AT ALL! She's a lying, despicable person (any those are her good qualities ;-)
As Greg and the Pubbie mentioned - the Pres has totally authority to unclassify classified documents and that's what he did. The Dims are saying he did it for political purposes. IIRC the Dims and MSM were screaming that the WH was too secretive and withholding documents. He releases the docs to appease them and know they're saying he did it for political purposes. Libby could release info after it was unclassified. IDIOTS!!

Would you report your neighbor if he was running a meth lab, had a chop shop, selling drugs? These are all illegal activities. Love your neighbor doesn't include winking at their breaking the law.

I would love for some host to describe how to 'declassify' information and who has this authority? Is it technically classified if the President releases it?

The increased demand causing increased housing prices is not a factor in the illegal immigration debate with the variables you described.

I beg to differ. If you look at the picture Macroly...more population equals more demand on housing. No, illegals won't influence my immediate neighborhood but the trickle down to my federal taxes will.

A sticky little fact that is a hard pill for the left to swallow!

Good points/responses - thanks!

"How are they going to round folks up and make sure they return to their home country and apply?"

Another question this spurs is what if their home countries won't take them back? - - EXCELLENT POINT!

Here is the conundrum, illegal entry into the country is currently only a misdemeanor, everything you described is a felony.

I don't know how anyone can say there are any respectable DUmocrats....they are the enemy, (same as the terrorists if you ask me).

I'd report him if he was a sex offender; as to your other examples, certainly if he did something which bothered me, but I try to keep a distance from my neighbor so I probably wouldn't know that. I don't put being in an illegal status quite in the same ballpark of mens rea.

..and if they won't take them back, they have a reasonable argument to apply for amnesty.

While I heartily agree with the caller, I have been more and more dismayed recently with some of the reporting on F & F. Earlier this week, E.D. Hill reported the unemployment rate to be 14%, and she repeated it more than once. If that was ever corrected, I missed the correction, because I turned the program off.

Today, as part of their "You Choose the News" segment, they said that "we" had chosen to hear more about the heckler during the President's speech this morning. However, when the did the segment, they cut off whst the President's response to the man was. One of the crew told us what the President said, but they did not play the video of it.

I realize that F & F is the best choice for what is available, however, I don't like direction I see it heading. These are not examples of presenting the other side or being fair and balanced.

How about focusing on the most serious and important abomination; the MSM coup against this President and the smearing of Conservatives for decades, with impunity.

They run rings around the Conservative press.

(our 20, 30, year immigration, SS, health care, energy and terrorism problems could be dealt with honestly but for the MSM)

I hate to be negative, but with the kind of blitz given to that "Bush leaked" story yesterday, there is no way on this earth republicans are going to ever be able to get anything done. The President does not seem to understand how to get the good news out. He's just like Gingrich in that he seems to believe the American public is smart enough to see through the hype. What American public might that be? The ones who want the government to pay for everything? The ones who saw Farenheit 911 and actually believed that pap? Or the ones who only watch the morning shows and the nightly news and believe everything those anchor dopes say? Perhaps it the folks who think Kennedy, Kerry and the rest of the democrats really believe the rich should pay more. Maybe it's just me but I know an awful lot of fellow Americans who haven't a clue what is really going on in the world, the country, the state or even their own town. The President must assume everybody is stupid and figure out how to get his message out in a manner that is understandable.

Let me clarify my remarks. Border security must include both physical security and eliminating the magnet that draws illegals here.

Concentrate on enforcing existing laws and/or increase penalties for hiring illegals. The person that hires day laborers, the housing contractor, the landscape company, the motel operator and yes the home owner who employs a maid must make sure that those that work are here legally.

Put in a reward system for those that report illegals. Distasteful? Yeah, but the worker who loses his job to an illegal would be glad to get $500 or $1,000 for reporting. Snitch on your neigbor and be able to take a weekend trip.

Remove the magnet and physically strengthen the border to slow and reverse the flow.

I like ALL of your suggestions.

I suggested instituting a reward for turning in an illegal worker (whether by a co-worker, or a neighbor; doesn't matter) for a bounty - and they'd all self-emigrate, to an employee of a company working as a contractor for ICE. In fact, I suggested that the number flowing OUT of the Country would stop those from coming in when they saw that folks were leaving!!! Word WOULD spread.

He laughed at me saying, "Oh yeah, I can see Congress passing that law."

So, I suggested that the President do it by Executive order. If Congress isn't going to have the cojones to do the right thing, then someone has to.

We need Rumsfield or someone with the same blunt speaking style to be on every show challenging these MSM dolts. I would love to see Rummy take McClellan's job for a day.

"No, illegals won't influence my immediate neighborhood "

If you start having 10+ illegals moving into 1 single family home - won't that influence your immediate neighborhood and, at the risk of sounding uncaring (which I don't mean to be) potentially property values?? What if there are several kids in each of these homes - -won't that influence your neighborhood and schools?
