"I Couldn't Have Done It Without You."

FRiends, a week ago today, Fightin' Spirit walked the long football field with his graduating class, crossed the stage to shake hands with his university's president, and processed off the field again hours later, with only a nearly imperceptible limp as a reminder of his devastating accident just two months prior. His proud parents watched from the stands. Later, the extended family gathered around for a home celebration, where they marveled at the speed and progress of his recovery.

Several took him aside to tell him about the variety of churches and groups they contacted as soon as he was injured, and who had prayed for him. His mother carried two fat envelopes with her - his graduation pictures, and print-outs of this prayer thread. Referring to all his prayer warriors, he said, "I couldn't have done it without you."

In humility, we don't know if this is true. But God knows. Along with FS's astonished relatives, who were shaking their heads at the restoration of his warm personality and outgoing banter with aunts, uncles and cousins, let us thank God again for this opportunity to have joined in prayer for this young man, who is still hoping to qualify for a military career after another year of healing and rehabilitation. His interim goal is to recover his reading, writing and research skills well enough to apply to graduate school in August. Let us continue to lift up this desire for him.

The family was also in the process of trying to move when this event threw their timetables awry. Let's pray that their planned relocation is accomplished to the greater glory of God, and is useful for His purposes.

Thank you, Father!

Amen!
