Wow! You certainly don't live in California. The Illegals have caused the closing of our ER's and a Third-world education for our children; while taxes continue to go up-- support our children! Yeh, and every illegal child.
Tell me how can a Catholic Cardinal profess to be a good Christian by calling for anyone to disobey our laws?

I am for trying to solve this problem. Its my viewpoint this whole political idea of deporting all illegal aliens will not happen. Its Dreamland. I want the problem solved or least started to be solved. Some of the stuff that was added on in the Senate Bill makes sense to me. If that can melded with tough enforcement I can live with it.
As to the Cardinal comments. I am not sure what laws you are mentioning. I suppose its that priests and church workers that provide ministry to these people and that their work could be illegal. However, I have been informed by many here the Church would be exempt. I think what many Catholics(not all) are concerned about is that the underlying law is just and not out of proportion to the problem. People of course can differ in good faith about that.

Third-world education for our children Wait until the illegals become eligible for College Student Aid. Legal kids from poor families will not be able to get an education.

Follow the money. 20 million illegal aliens 80% from Catholic countries. Figuring that only half the criminals go to church on any week, and that they give an average of just $2.00 each, it's $16 million a week.
Rev. Ike would love a weekly haul like that.
