Not sure where Rush got the 6% Hispanic figure. We were recently told that the Hispanics now outnumber African_Americans in the USA, and African-Americans account for 15%. It's possible that the 6% refers to illegal Hispanics.

Not sure where Rush got the 6% Hispanic figure.

Maybe he was referring to THIS column.

....here are a few facts: in 2004 the Hispanic vote was a modest 6 percent of the voters. As the electoral statistician Steve Sailer has repeatedly pointed out it is growing at the still more modest rate of 0.6 percent every presidential election cycle. And almost exactly half of the Hispanic vote is concentrated in two states — Republican Texas and Democratic California — that are dependably loyal in their voting habits and so unlikely to sway national elections.

It's a pretty informative column and welll worth the read. The basic message of the column is that the Hispanic vote is definitely NOT something that the Republicans should worry about if they want to act on serious border control.

Does anyone even know for sure? At least in Arizona they can't vote unless they were registered prior to passage of our prop200. Every state needs to get a prop 200 version of their own on the ballot for November... now THAT would make an impression in Washington, just as all the gay marriage ammendments did last election... When our senators ignore us we go to the mat (so to speak) and the mat is the proposition.
