You guys better come to terms with some historical truths regarding the US and the suppression of democracy in Latin America. Nothing in the above article is a falsification of the truth, nothing. Do some research, read a book, for chrissakes. Google "United Fruit Co." for starters. The actual documented historic record of that corporation in insuring slave wage monopolies in Central America is disgusting. We are reaping what we sowed, any unbiased investigation of the political realities will establish that to a criminal degree.
You can't go knee jerk defensive and into hysterical denial on this because there is no defense and no denying the methodologies of raw materials and foodstuffs extraction from these countries. Monopoly capitalism (notice I said "monopoly capitalism" or in it's latter day guise- globalist capitalism) IS fascism by any definition found in any political science textbook. Do I have to lecture you on the conspiratorial realities of the CFR, the Trilateral Commission, the 40's Committee, the Bilderbergers, the "liberal eastern establishment", etc.?.
American and European transnational capitalism created the conditions for revolution, period. What, you think the commies use a swinging watch to generate hypnotic suggestability?! Instead of requiring the breaking up the feudal latifundist sharecropper rentier petty dukedoms in Latin America in exchange for our investments and infrastructure development, certain well known and well studied powerful industrial factions operating in our name helped maintain a system of industrial serfdom, in direct opposition to the principles which guided the creation of this country.
I slap my forehead, this is such a no brainer. Grab your cojones and confront the facts. Any refusal to perceive the realities on this issue will only propagate further what you are witnessing with Chavez et al.
