Rush said he has heard the faxes, emails, and calls to our politicians are similar to the ports deal - overwhelmingly against what is being proposed. And on these threads, there are only a handful of people for amnesty. Rush will change sides within the next week or so. The Whitehouse will strongly suggest that he reconsider and the next day he will come out with a "Bush is taking an issue away from Democrats" explanation.

Yes, because they've been so successful in convincing Rush to change his mind on Immigration for the last couple of years. [sarcasm]

Good one!
Maybe they'll threaten to withhold the chummy calls with Rove.

I hope you are wrong, but I am afraid you are right. He's spent much of the past 6 years pandering to the administration and has only come out against illegal immigration now that he can't avoid it. Although, he is coming down hard against any guestamnesty bills, so it would be tough for him to change his tune. I suspect he'll just not speak of it again, as he's done before this week.
Hopefully, the other hosts will keep it alive. Laura Ingraham is great on it. If they do, Rush will have to bring it up if he wants to keep listeners.
