BASRA, April 4 (KUNA) -- Unknown gunmen on Tuesday fired missiles at a British forces headquarters in Basra, southern Iraq, announced Basra Police Command sources on Tuesday.

A Basra police spokesperson said the gunmen fired three Katyusha missiles on a hotel used as headquarters by the British forces in central Basra.

In another incident, a British military patrol was attacked by unknown gunmen armed with rocket-propelled grenades and machineguns north of Basra city, said a spokesperson for the British forces.

The source said that the two sides exchanged fire, but did not touch on any losses on both sides.

Meanwhile, an Iraqi police source told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that an armed group fired two missiles toward a British forces headquarters in Misan, south of Amara city, noting that the headquarters has been subject to several missile strikes by unknown gunmen during the past few days.

It's still a serious situation, but the Katyushas are rockets, not missiles.

Yes, all armed attacks are serious. And the Brits are almost as good as our men at responding even more seriously.

No one killed or wounded after rocket fire? Suspicious. Maybe it was really bottle rockets.

Seems like some pressures are being put on the British troops. I wonder if it is connected with recent reports Tony may call it quits this time around, and the goons figure they somehow they can effect his demise by causing trouble with the British Army.
