I remember when Ayatollah Khomeini went back to Iran. I was sure that was the start (or at least the intensification) of something big and it would be nothing but trouble. I was amazed at some of the talking heads who pretended that Ayatollah Khomeini was a harmless "dissident" or a "reformer." I didn't understand how some people missed that the world had just become a more dangerous place.
