It takes one hour, 35 minutes --- slow down in Lamesa, as their only apparent source of revenue is speeding tickets --- people in Houston and Dallas commute longer.

I think it's about a hundred and twenty miles from Lubbock to Midland (I didn't look it up.). That's about an hour and a half.
