I will answer your question with a question. In hind sight, who would have been a better president Bush the Elder or clinton? Or who would have been better Dole or clinton? If you say clinton there is something wrong with you.

Elder Bush did more actual damage on the domestic front with his ADA and tax increases than Clinton managed to do. Given the congress we had I am not so sure Dole would have been any improvement. The Clinton attempt at socialized medicine got us 1994. Elder Bush and Dole would have continued with a Dem Congress and got nothing useful done and both would have continued the old and honorable tradition of caving to the crats in Congress just to get something passed. When I think of Bill C I shudder and then think of 1994 and count it all as a net gain. The best we could have expected from Elder Bush in a 2nd term or from Dole is a net wash and I am betting it would have wound up negative. No I did not vote for BC. I could not possibly- even had I had the esp to know what the actual results would be. I voted for the Repub both times. But I will not vote for Giuliani under any circumstances. Our devil might be marginally better than their devil but he is still a devil and puts the stamp of the devil on the party. I am not even sure that he would be better in his conduct of the Islamic War. The Crats will back off and wind down and the country will take a couple of solid hits. Then a crat especially

a Mrs. Clinton, will lash out with nukes and do the job Bush doesn't want to face doing, albeit hugely messily and with tremendous unnecessary collateral destruction (she might well nuke Canberra to show she is not profiling).
