Don't Be Fooled Again (Joseph Farah: Do We Really Want A Drag Queen President? Alert)
Worldnetdaily.com ^ | April 5, 2006 | Joseph Farah

The American people got shafted in 2000 and 2004 with some rotten political choices.

In fact, the American people get shafted with rotten political choices all the time – choices called Democrats and Republicans.

There are some people gearing up to ensure that your choices in 2008 are just as rotten as they have been since about 1988.

We all know who the leading Democratic candidate for president is – Hillary Clinton.

But do you know who the leading Republican candidate is as of this moment?

By some reckonings, it is Rudy Giuliani.

No, the smart money has long suggested that Giuliani is incapable of winning the Republican nomination for the presidency because of his hideous positions on homosexuality and abortion. But it appears Giuliani is aware of this weakness and is attempting to hoodwink American evangelicals the way Bill Clinton did.

As Andrew Sullivan put it, "If Rudy is talking Jesus, he's going to run."

And, boy, is he ever talking the talk.

Now, before I tell you what he said, and to whom he said it, let me first introduce to you the real Rudy Giuliani.

Is America really ready for a drag-queen president?

Can America survive another obnoxious phony baloney masquerading as one thing and governing as another?

Will Republicans be fooled again and nominate a candidate who favors unrestricted abortion on demand?

Should we expect the Grand Old Party to become the Gay Old Party in 2008 and put its stamp of approval on a guy 100 percent committed to the homosexual activist agenda?

No that photo you're seeing has not been retouched. It really is Rudy Giuliani made up in a blond wig and pink dress in a spoof of "Victor-Victoria" for the 1997 Inner Circle dinner. He followed that up with more cross-dressing antics on "Saturday Night Live." Then in 2001, he agreed to appear in drag in an episode of "Queer As Folk."

Rudy Guiliani In Drag

Is it possible that Giuliani could survive all this to become the Republican nominee for the presidency in 2008?

He's going to try. And his strategy for overcoming his past is to reach out to Christians – pretending, quite frankly, that he is one.

Back in January, Giuliani was invited to speak to the Global Pastors Network in Orlando – an evangelical group determined to establish 5 million new churches around the world in the next decade to fulfill the Great Commission.

Suddenly, before this audience, Giuliani was transformed into a man of faith.

Asked if he was running for president, he said: "Only God knows. I'll know better in a year whether I can fully commit to that process." Notice he said "fully commit," which suggests he is already partially committed.

The pastors unwisely said they'd pray for him. I hope they meant that they would pray for his conversion, pray that he would renounce his sins, pray that he would not run for president, pray that he would not win. But I have no such confidence in foolish evangelicals who are too easily seduced by worldly power politics.

Giuliani's response: "I appreciate you. I can tell you from my heart how much I appreciate what you are doing: saving people, telling them about Jesus Christ and bringing them to God."

Excuse me, shouldn't a man with Giuliani's record be kicked out of the church? Again, I'm all for praying for his salvation, but does anyone really believe Giuliani is a sincere follower of Jesus Christ? Shame on any professing Christian who doesn't have sufficient discernment to see through this charade.

Guess what, folks: If you fall for this self-serving hokum, you will have only yourself to blame for your poor political choices in 2008.

Hillary will never have a broad national following. She doesn't have as much public self control as Clintbilly did.

I'll let Jesus worry about His relationship with Rudy, and I'll worry about whether I would prefer Rudy or Mrs. Bill Clinton in the White House, while the easily distracted and befuddled among us worry themselves over who wore what and appeared in what TV program.

"Rudy believes in winning the War on Terror, and taking no prisoners, and I daresay he would prosecute that war with even more vigor than the Bush Administration. That's good enough for me."

Hear hear! That right there is all that matters.

We're talking about electing a PRESIDENT. That's the head of the Executive Branch. The primary function of the Executive Branch is to enforce laws. That means that the single most important characteristic of a Commander-in-Chief is to defend this nation at home and abroad. All other concerns, be they social, economic, whatever, are entirely relevant, but play second fiddle to the question of whom you trust most to find and rough up the bad guys.

Yes, Giulliani's got problems with the Second Amendment, and I've got problems with him for that. But I've got a much bigger problem with a President Hillary.

They are both completely unacceptable. Perhaps if Rudy dresses as "Annie Oakley" at his next gig we can talk.

BTW, defending any of our Constitutional amendments is hardly "nitpicking."

And most presidents leave their droppings in the Supreme Court. Rudy wants to turn America into a gay, baby killing playhouse where they take the chicken sticks away from the kids because someone might say bang. No way Hosay.

I didn't previously know about that, but it doesn't surprise me at all. Neither does his more recent rhetoric. Caligula "conservatives" (libertine liberals) would love to have him as our choice to run against Hillary, because its members would be just as happy with one as the other to ruin our country.

And watch the public reaction when his divorce issue is repeatedly recycled.

I will never vote for a man who cannot keep his vow to his wife and the mother of his child. Not for dogcatcher, let alone President. He can look into his wife's eyes and lie to her, and she knows him a lot more years than I do. What makes conservatives like me so special that he won't lie to us? How can lying to your wife in front of God and man at your wedding be any less sacred than lying to your country?

Hey why don't we nominate Michael Schiavo. At least he kept his promise!

Personally I'm with Strategerist. I'd rather compromise and have a less-than-perfect Republican President than proudly and nobly end up with a perfect Democrat.

I just don't know why we have to settle at all. A perfect democrat is impossible. What is so hard about finding a person who does not want to kill babies. There has to be some pro-lifers out there. Hell a pro lifer who wears a dress? LOL.

Rudy believes in winning the War on Terror, and taking no prisoners, and I daresay he would prosecute that war with even more vigor than the Bush Administration. That's good enough for me.

When he spoke at the Republican convention, I knew that he understood the fight better than most. I think he would put other on the backburner in order to fight the terrorists. Not my first choice, but we need someone committed to the war.

"Hey why don't we nominate Michael Schiavo. At least he kept his promise!"

Let me see if I got this straight. Your comeback to my assertion that

"I will never vote for a man who cannot keep his vow to his wife and the mother of his child. Not for dogcatcher, let alone President. He can look into his wife's eyes and lie to her, and she knows him a lot more years than I do. What makes conservatives like me so special that he won't lie to us? How can lying to your wife in front of God and man at your wedding be any less sacred than lying to your country?"

is that we should nominate for President Mike Schiavo, who fathered children with another woman while his wife lay helpless.

Giuliani and Schiavo have a hell of a lot in common in the lying and breaking oaths department, dumb@$$.

Are you kidding?

Nanny, nanny, nanny

(S)he'd use the sturm-and-drang of the WOT to divert national attention from lots and lots of stuff like this. Historians will note that WWII was the occasion of a lot of Rat mischief, yet nobody dares sully the name of St. Roosevelt.

I like Rudy, and Farah is a bit of a nut.

But having said that, his apparent support for the gay-rights agenda is a serious problem and may legitimately disqualify him from conservative support. And certainly some evangelicals, and some evangelical leaders, are stupid enough to be fooled by cleverly pitched remarks about God, Christ, prayer, etc., that mean nothing politically even if they're sincere.

I failed to catch any irony in your original post (because of the oddly appended "at least he kept his promise," which threw me off), but I understand what you're trying to say now. My apologies--some people seem to be so pro-Rudy I actually assumed they'd grasp at the straw of comparing him favorably to Schiavo.

Rudy is unelectable. I'm sure New Yorkers feel he's done a fine job. His shtick will not go over in the states between the Right & Left Coasts.
