Good morning, Everyone. Good morning to our

Military, our Allies, and their families. THANK YOU. You're all grand!

Thank you, Tibby, for preparing the Canteen for today’s activities. You know, I don't think I'd take them anywhere. I'd invite them to my house and cook up a home cooked meal. Not necessarily healthy food either! LOL

Weather up date from DC Metroland ~~ cloudy and cool today. Warmer tomorrow.

This Day In History.

April 5

1991 -- US begins air drops to Kurd refugees in Northern Iraq

1986 -- US soldier & Turkish woman killed in West Berlin disco bombing

1982 -- British fleet sails to Falkland Islands

1968 -- US marine base Khe San Vietnam, appalled

1943 -- Japanese troops conquer Indin

1943 -- Allies bomb Mortsel

1939 -- Membership in Hitler Youth becomes obligatory

1865 -- Battle at Amelia Springs/Jetersville Va (Appomattox Campaign)

1862 -- Siege of Yorktown VA

1861 -- Federals abandon Ft Quitman, Tx

1768 -- 1st US Chamber of Commerce forms (NYC)

1621 -- Mayflower sails from Plymouth on a return trip to England

1614 -- Indian princess Pocahontas marries English colonist John Rolfe

To all newbies and lurkers

Time for me to make my rounds. But, you stay right where you are. Don't touch that dial. Don't change that channel. Put down that remote. Don't leave the room. Keep your eyes on your monitor. Cause...............I'll be bock!

Now remember, the Canteen is

So, come on in and sit for a while. There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS

REMEMBER THEM

DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and

our allied military and the family members of the above.

Honoring those who have served before.

And, what are you doing on another thread, pray tell? Huh? Don't you know we're like Hotel California? "You can check in, but you can never leave." LOL

((LOL))Well, needless to say there's a lot going on.

Today is Norton Update Day so everyone should check their anti-virus software.

Also, next week is Patch Tuesday and Tommorow, Microsoft is going to let us know what if any updates they're going to send out.

It's cloudy here this morning. We're hoping for some rain but it looks like the dry line may race past us before we can get any rain to occur.

We'll see what happens

Mornin' Beachy!

Where would I take the troops?
To my back yard for a picnic with Mrs. Acad's Country fried chicken, mashed potatoes & cream gravy, corn-on-the-cob, cole slaw, fried okra, sweet tea, and peach and blue berry cobblers with homemade ice cream for dessert.
It's the best I can think of and our troops deserve the best.

Yep, and that's a redneck lawn, too. Note the billboard pole in the front yard...

YUM! Sounds like good ole southern cooking to me.

Except for the fried okra, sounds yummy!

Well, we're getting rain this morning. And, once again, very windy.

I guess tomorrow night I'll have to do all my updates on my home computer.
