Sorry friend, but the Irish fought on both sides of the war. Savannah, Ga. had a huge Irish influx, possibly third in the country after NY and Boston.

If I'm not mistaken the members of the 69th NY were killed by the score at Sharpsbury by the 6th Louisiana. Both Irish.
