The only crime they appear to regard as serious in the new, improved U.K. is using a weapon to defend yourself.

But if the police can't be bothered to defend you or your property, what other choice is left?

The key to Giuliani and Bratton's campaign to bring law and order back to New York City, after crime had run completely out of control under Dinkins, was to arrest offenders for small but highly visible offenses.

No more sleeping on park benches. No more forcing drivers at stop signs to let you wash their windows or get their cars scratched. No more shoplifting. No more breaking windows with rocks. Because if you see people committing crimes all over the place and let them get away with it, there can only be one result. More crimes, escalating to more serious crimes.

Another "crime" they are fond of enforcing are their "hate speech" codes.

Say anything negative about Muslim immigration, off to court you shall go.

>>I lived an worked in Saudi Arabia for more than 13 years. We never locked a house or car door whilst we were there. Reason - if you steal they chop your hand off. If you repeat the offence they chop the other one off too. Horrible - yes; effective - very. At least those who respected the law felt safe which is more than we can say for the UK now.

Now, I understand why the Brits had their firearms taken away. I think having a tiger for a house cat might be one solution.
